About the Band

Formed in Washington, DC in 2022, 5th of Four has quickly built a loyal following with their combination of heavy guitar riffs, jazzy melodies, and catchy lyrics.

5th of Four is an eclectic mix of some of DC’s most talented musicians. Guitarists Mitchell Norton and James Adelsberger started as drummers, giving their guitar playing a more rhythmic feel. Bassist Ryan Schmid is an accomplished lead guitars, giving his bass playing more melody than your typical rock band. Drummer Mort Rolleston is a songwriter, meaning the old joke “What did the drummer say right before getting kicked out of the band? ‘Hey guys. I wrote a song we should play’” doesn’t apply. It’s all capped off with the phenomenal vocalist of Faith Hayden, a classically trained singer with a theatre background, adding to her flair for the dramatic.

From power chord driven pop-rock to acoustic-based power-ballads, there's something for everyone in every show. 5th of Four’s influences include the 90s/00s rock of Foo Fighters and Taking Back Sunday, the second wave punk of Rancid, the 80s prog rock of Rush, the heavy metal of Metallica, and the British new wave of The Police. The band’s writing principle is “Let’s try it and see if it sucks.”
